My story in senior care began long before I entered the industry professionally.

I grew up inside one of the earliest long term care homes, where my family lived in the attic above the residence. From an early age, I witnessed the emotional, physical, and deeply human realities of ageing, caregiving, community, and dignity.

As a teenager, I worked throughout the residence in many different roles, moving from nursing aide to administration. Those early experiences gave me something no textbook or formal training ever could: an understanding of people.

Over time, my path evolved into interior design and commercial environments, where I created spaces for retirement communities, offices, and hospitality. From there, I moved into international real estate marketing, product positioning, and multidisciplinary development projects across North America.

Each chapter of my life expanded my perspective, not only on business and leadership, but on human behavior, dignity, identity, and the emotional realities people carry beneath the surface.

I learned how people move through environments. How leadership shapes culture. How systems influence dignity. How identity evolves over time. And how often humanity becomes lost inside systems designed to care for people.

And eventually, I returned to where it all began.

What interests me these days, is far beyond improving systems, it’s questioning the assumptions those systems were built upon. As Owner and Operator of Scarborough Retirement Residence, I continue to explore new approaches to leadership, culture, aging, and care. The residence has become a living laboratory for conscious leadership, innovation, emotional wellbeing, and human-centered systems.
